Busy Busy Buddhas....

October - A fantastic month to get married!  

We've had great gigs throughout the whole month, from Northampton to Gloucester, London, Cambridge, Chichester, Oxford, Kent, Lewes and of course our hometown... Brighton!  It's been a bit of a road trip but we've had a brilliant time playing at your weddings and parties.  I've taken a few photos on the way - see if you can spot yourself in any of them!

Busy September gigs!

Another great month of wedding and parties; we've been all over the country playing at country houses, in marquees, gardens, mansions and hotels... it's been quite a tour!
The jazz sets are getting really popular - I've been enjoying the sun while playing in our quartet, trio and quintet.  With lovely guests offering canapes and pimms... who could ask for more! I've taken a few pics on the way - take a look and see if you can see yourself (or someone you know!)

We've just returned from performing at an event in Cannes, France! It was a flying visit but we had a great time performing and taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Funky Buddha perform at weddings and parties throughout the UK!

Well, it's been another very busy week with Funky Buddha playing at weddings and parties at venues including: The beautiful Tithe barn in Petersfield, The Grand Hotel in Brighton and The Belmont Hotel in Leicester.  With different line up options this weekend has been a great one - our 9 piece party band includes 3 singers which create a powerful sound and beautiful harmonies, also a great horn section giving the music plenty of punch!

We've listened to the requests and our ever expanding set is expanding to work at any event - the live lounge is very popular and more and more people are going for the ultimate package which includes music before, during and after your ceremony as well as the party band for the evening.  When you look at it, it really is a good way to cut down on costs with our discounted price.

Weddings in all weathers!

Funky Buddha are brave.... it's official!  Battling on in 2 inches of water and then continuing with an acoustic set (on the spot!) to keep the party going when all the electrics cut!  Where was this adventure? in a marquee in the middle of a field near Horsham which was rapidly becoming a lake!

It's been a great month of music and partying so far with some great new songs and arrangements that keep the music fresh and exciting.    From marquees to mansions we're there getting the party going.

The first dances this month have been great! we LOVE your requests and have enjoyed playing them Funky Buddha style. We've been busy on the road... Wetherby, Buckinghamshire, Herts, Devon, London, Hampshire... to mention a few.



The Live lounge and Jazz sets are getting more and more popular; great to get the atmosphere just right over a few post ceremony drinks.  And also offering ceremony music as an option and/or solo piano or guitar is turning out to be a real 'winner'

We offer the live lounge/jazz, solo piano/guitar at a reduced price if you make a booking for the band in the evening, it keeps things simple and avoids having lots of equipment there from different musicians.

aIts been a little while since the blog was active...  and this is because we've been incredibly busy every week playing all over the country at weddings functions and parties.

There are some great new songs and we welcome some more outstanding musicians/singers to the band all of whom have outstanding talent.

Come Join The Party this Saturday!

It's not that often that Funky Buddha do an open gig for anyone to come along to, but this Saturday 10th March we are playing at The Latest Bar in Kemp Town Brighton and YES you should come along. Why? because you're going to have a great night of course; great grooves just waiting for you to strut your stuff on the dance floor. We'll be on around 8.45 and it gets busy so you'll need to be a little early if you want to get a seat (not that you'll be sat down though!) Looking forward to seeing friends old and new.

Funky Buddha's 10 piece band have just got the party going at 'One Mayfair' for 'Boston Scientific' - beautiful harmonies from our singers and razor sharp horn lines from the horns, I was proud to be a part of it all.  We included some new material and arrangements which went down a storm, we'll include them in our showcase gig on March 10th.  The snow didn't put anyone off luckily (although the M25 was a nightmare coming home to Brighton!)  I've included a couple of shots for you to see
